Another Sunday Sampler Sneak Peek

Here's a peek of one of five of the projects you'll make if you come to our Sunday Sampler. Isn't this candy treat box adorable? Alissa will teach you how to make the box from scratch. It's the perfect little something to put on a co-worker's desk or in your daughter's lunch box to show you care! We bet you'll want to make more after crafting this one.

There are still spaces left for our Sunday Sampler this Sunday, August 23rd. There are two time slots to choose from: 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. It's only $17 and you'll walk away with five completed projects, all created by our talented instructors.

New Arrivals- SEI & Hampton Art & more

These are just two of the three SEI lines we got in this week. They are absolutely beautiful with foil and flock and glaze.

We also received in an order of Hampton Art stamps, including three sets of Studio G $1 clear stamps. There are some really beautiful clear sets too.

The Paper Company is a new company we've just started carrying too- the papers are very luxe with a pearlescent finish and foil touches.

The new Tattered Angels colors arrived today also. Many of them are limited edition colors that once they're gone, they're gone.

Come in and see what all is new! All these sparkly, shiny things look better in person anyway! :)

The Holocaust Museum in Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies for their "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" exhibit set to open in spring 2012.

We will be collecting butterflies to send in for this cause through the end of the year at least. They are requesting that the butterflies be submitted by June 30, 2011. We may wind up sending in multiple lots. :)

From their website:
Please facilitate the “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” activity and create as many handmade arts-and-crafts butterflies as possible. This project may be completed by all ages as individuals or groups.

* Butterflies should be no larger than 8 inches by 10 inches.
* Butterflies may be of any medium the artist chooses, but two-dimensional submissions are preferred.
* Glitter should not be used.
* Food products (cereal, macaroni, candy, marshmallows or other perishables) also should not be used.

Sketch Thursday 8-6

This week's sketch is an 8.5 x11" page sketch that Rhonda has artfully turned into a lovely card. She has replaced the photo with a double matted stamped sentiment, and changed it from a portrait to landscape orientation.

Cards are an excellent way to use up those scraps from pages, and even the simplest hand crafted card lets the person you give it to know that you care! You can easily whip out several cards in a single sitting to have some on hand too. You can even leave the sentiments blank and add those on as needed.

New Arrivals- My Mind's Eye and More!

My Mind's Eye's newest arrived yesterday and man-oh-man is there a lot of new stuff from them! Two Christmas lines- one adorable and bright, the other vintage and muted, two Halloween lines- again- one bright and fun, the other vintage and spooky, and two all occasion lines- one for him and one for her! PLUS--- Abbey Road- their new rack program with matching titles, die cuts, chipboard and more! Their embellishments for all their new lines are really cool- the decorative brads are very nice, as are the ribbons. I only photographed a few papers from each of the lines- the regular lines also have kits, die cut sheets, sticker borders, brads and ribbon.

In addition to MME, we also received in a reorder of Stamping Bella and a TON of Ketto stamps (they're fun and funky fairies for those not in with the Ketto crowd). We also received several new Stampavie stamps (LOVE these clear stamps! Detailed and PERFECT for Copic markers!)

Also- QuicKutz newest release arrived Tuesday- and it is Halloween awesomeness! (i think it's pretty obvious i totally love Halloween) See the picture below the slideshow.

New stuff is arriving daily now- keep your eyes on the blog for more peeks!
