The Time Has Come to Say Goodbye
The Time Has Come to Say Goodbye....
I grew up with parents who worked in retail their entire lives and as I saw the trials and tribulations that they incurred I said that I would never go into retail. Just goes to show you that you should never say never. I certainly ate those words when we opened Eclectica 8 years ago. Our goal was to have a store that fostered creativity through customer service as well as the products and classes that we offered. We hoped to create an environment where people felt at home, a place where people loved to come to learn, to share and to shop. I truly believe that we have accomplished our goals. Over the last 8 years, I believe that we haved offered classes with outstanding instructors, some local, some visiting instructors from out of town. Creativity has run rampant at Eclectica. We have offered a wide variety of products from the best vendors in the industry. If we didn't have what you wanted, we got it for you if it was at all possible. Yes, we have accomplished our goals. I believe that we have even made a lot of new friends along the way.
I used to look at messages from store owners who decided to close their stores and would think, how can they do that? I now know. The answer is that in your heart and soul, you just know that the time is right. It's not that you love what you are doing any less. It's just that you know it's time to move on to do other things. Over the last 8 years, we have expanded our lease several times. Our current lease will expire on October 31. I have thought long and hard about renewing our lease but the truth is, it's time for me to say goodbye to Eclectica. There are so many things that I still want to do in this lifetime and let's face it, I'm not a young woman anymore. The past 8 years have been amazing and I would like to thank all of you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.
PLEASE NOTE:
We will be stamping and redeeming frequent shopper cards through Sunday, September 30. Beginning Monday, October 1, we will no longer stamp or redeem frequent shopper cards.
We are no longer accepting special orders.
We will continue to accept credit cards and gift cards until we close, but will not accept checks after October 10.
We will begin our inventory reduction sale on Monday, October 1.
