Mixed Media Classes at Eclectica

Join us on February 18 for the first in our new monthly series of mixed media classes! Mixed media is a fun and rewarding way to express your creativity. In this class you will learn how to create a basic paper collage. We will explore various techniques to transform papers with acrylic paint and combine them to create a work of art! In addition to your basic tool kit, please bring a 1 inch flat synthetic paint brush (we recommend Claudine Hellmuth), detail scissors, mini mister or spray bottle, and a water proof black marker (Zig or Copic Marker). Please note this is a workshop length class.

Andrea Manard is a self-taught mixed media artist based in Memphis. She has been creating paintings, art objects, and jewelry for the last 12 years. Her work has appeared in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, along with instructional articles she has written, and she has a piece currently on the cover of their 2012 calendar. She also appeared on HGTV’S “That’s Clever” October 2011. Andrea is inspired by her large collections of old papers of all types, especially old maps, which often find their way into her art.
